Believing you are never alone………

“You know my sitting down and my rising up; you understand my thoughts afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.”

Psalms 139:2-3

I have been reading this book of the Power of Prayer. The book is by Stormie Omartian. There is a prayer I want to share with all of those that read this blog:

Lord, only You can fill that empty place in the canyon of my heart. I know that you are that one constant in my life that can never be lost to me. All else is temporary and changing. I believe You are a good God and Your love for me is endless. Help me to cast my whole burden on You and let You carry it. Walk with me, Lord. Take my hand and lead me so I can feel Your light on my face and Your joy in my heart.

In Jesus’ name I pray…Amen(Stormie Omartian)

Let me share with you why this prayer touched my heart so deep within. As you may know I am a missionary, serving God at a women’s shelter with children. Disciplining mom’s how to depend on God and be Godly mothers. Planting Godly seeds into their children’s hearts. It can be tough at times.

The Holy Spirit put on my heart one night that sometimes as missionaries we can focus on what we can do, but that is not what our focus should be.

‘Being a missionary is about what God does in you first and then what He can do through you’

To serve we must be able to be edify and sanctified by the Holy Spirit and by the word of God. We must be willing to go through the fire of trials and be dressed in the armor of God, so we will not get burn.

I reflect on the testimony of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the book of Daniel chapter 3. King Nebuchadnezzar shouted, “ Look, I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!”

Together they silently defied King Nebuchadnezzar’s order to fall down and worship his gold statue. They shared a

courageous act, while others, eager to get rid of them, told the king that three Jews were being disloyal. While this was not true, Nebuchadnezzar could not spare them without losing face.

The three Jews could of compromise their relationship with God, but they did not hesitate to place their lives in the hands of God. The rest was victory.

The Lessons from their lives: there is great strength in real friendships, it is important to stand to with others with whom we share convictions, God can be trusted even when we can’t predict the outcome. (NIV, Life Application Bible)

Sometimes as believers we are put in situations that can tempt us to compromise our relationship with God, but those compromises are not worth losing what God has for us. My heart has been tested in various ways since I left to Mexico.

First, test was having the secureness to believe that God had chosen me to serve Him in Mexico:

My Testimony: Before I left to the Mission field I felt this emptiness in my heart. I prayed for a whole year for full time ministry. That entire year I began to lose a lot and live off a very small income but my heart trusted in the Lord. I would even pray God take me home because that emptiness kept getting deeper within me. Then, the Holy Spirit put on my heart if I was willing to give up everything to serve God. The test was to give and sale everything I had so I can leave to Mexico. This was something between me and the Lord. But the enemy tried to discourage me in various ways, but now all I can say I been in Mexico since January 2010 and I don’t have that emptiness within my heart anymore. Praise God!!!

Trials never stop coming but I have learned to take every trial as a blessing from God. Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not know the outcome of their trial, they trusted in Our Heavenly Father . I want my life to give testimony and be a witness of God’s supernatural power that He demonstrates through my life as I serve Him

In the day I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul”

Psalm138:3
